The InnoVamos Project to Hold Its Public Launch Event on 17 June in Gran Canaria
Innovation, Collaboration, and Knowledge and Technology Transfer in the MAC Space: Towards a Dynamic Ecosystem for Innovation
The European InnoVamos project, funded by the INTERREG MAC 2021–2027 Programme, will hold its public launch event on 17 June 2025 on the island of Gran Canaria. The gathering will bring together representatives from the academic, business, and institutional sectors, as well as the innovation ecosystem, from the participating regions of the MAC Space (Madeira, Azores, and Canary Islands) and from West African countries such as Ghana, Cape Verde, and São Tomé and Príncipe.
InnoVamos is a strategic initiative coordinated by the Canarian Science and Technology Park Foundation of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (FCPCT-ULPGC), which aims to strengthen collaboration between universities, technology centres, businesses, and institutional agents. The project advocates for more inclusive and connected innovation, with a direct impact on the economic and social development of the regions involved.
During the event, the project’s main objectives and lines of action will be presented, along with the collaboration opportunities that will open up throughout its execution. The day will combine informative sessions, discussion panels, and networking spaces, promoting exchange among key actors in the innovation ecosystem of the MAC cooperation area.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Sebastián López Suárez, Vice-Rector for Research, Transfer, and Entrepreneurship at ULPGC
- Richard Yeboah, Director of the Ghana Innovation Hub and founder of the Centre for Enterprise Learning (CEL)
- Marco M. Alemán, Assistant Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
- Pilar Moreno, representative of PROEXCA
- Braulio Quintana Sánchez, General Manager of the EMERGE Association
The event will be held at the FCPCT-ULPGC facilities, located on the Tafira Campus of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). A hybrid format will be maintained, with the possibility of in-person attendance and online participation via streaming. Simultaneous translation services will be available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
Registration is open to all actors in the innovation ecosystem: universities, technology centres, SMEs, start-ups, spin-offs, public institutions, investors, entrepreneurs, and social agents. Coffee and lunch breaks will provide further opportunities for networking and cooperation among attendees.
InnoVamos is committed to building a transnational and resilient innovation ecosystem that connects knowledge with territorial needs and promotes the transition towards a more competitive, sustainable, and inclusive development model.
