The project consortium held its fifth coordination meeting to review progress across the different work areas and define the next steps

The INNOVAMOS project held its fifth coordination meeting on 29 September, an online session in which the participating organisations reviewed the technical progress of the initiative, updated the activity schedule and defined the main actions for the coming months.

The meeting provided an opportunity to monitor the different lines of work aimed at strengthening knowledge transfer, connecting universities’ R&D&I capabilities with the needs of the business sector, and fostering the development of innovative projects in the participating territories.

Among the progress discussed was the training programme aimed at researchers, companies and professionals involved in knowledge transfer. Regarding training for researchers, the University of La Laguna (ULL), together with its Foundation (FGULL), is working on the design of a micro-credential programme scheduled to run between January and June 2027, focusing on research commercialisation, open innovation and scientific entrepreneurship.

Progress is also being made on the development of the knowledge management tool promoted by the Canary Islands Science and Technology Park Foundation of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (FPCT), which has now been fully developed and is currently in the testing phase. The platform will centralise information on researchers, projects, technologies, patents, contracts, external organisations and business needs.

Identifying the needs of companies and connecting them with the scientific and technological capabilities of universities is another key area of work within the project. The results of this analysis will serve as the basis for the development of a regional database, a report and a series of business case studies.

In the field of entrepreneurship, the analysis carried out to date has examined 250 researchers from the ULPGC and ULL and identified 25 profiles with entrepreneurial potential. The methodology developed will now be compared with information available from other participating universities in order to move towards a common system that can be applied across the different territories involved in the project.

Over the coming months, the consortium will continue working on the implementation of the tools and methodologies developed, as well as on the various activities planned for 2027. The next coordination meeting is scheduled to take place in the Azores between January and February 2027.
