The activity brought together companies, researchers and innovation support organisations during the University of Madeira Scientific Days
The INNOVAMOS project held its second Innovation Workshop in Madeira, an activity aimed at strengthening open innovation and collaboration between companies, researchers and innovation support organisations.
The event took place within the framework of the second edition of the University of Madeira Scientific Days and was organised as part of Specific Objective 2 of the project, focused on connecting R&D&I capabilities with industry needs.
The activity was led and organised by EMERGE, with the collaboration of the project partners in Madeira: the University of Madeira, the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation (ARDITI) and the Associação Comercial e Industrial do Funchal (ACIF-CCIM).
The workshop created a working environment in which companies could present specific challenges and researchers could contribute scientific, technological and methodological perspectives. The session was organised around four thematic tables: digitalisation, artificial intelligence, software and user experience; tourism, market and sustainable experience; biotechnology, biodiversity, health and natural resources; and energy, processes, sustainability and management.
Companies from different sectors took part, including FootAR, Connecting Software, WalkMe Mobile Solutions, Madeira Wine Company, I AM WORLD, Frederico Mendes & Associados, Fragrância d’Azul, Madebiotech, Insular, EEM, Panidoce and Apus Trust.
During the workshop, participants addressed challenges related to the adoption of digital solutions, wine valorisation, the circular economy, the use of natural resources, scientific validation of products, food reformulation, energy management, electric vehicle integration, process digitalisation, cybersecurity and risk management.
The work carried out made it possible to identify opportunities for collaboration between companies and researchers, as well as potential follow-up actions through bilateral meetings, technical visits, market studies, laboratory validations, data analysis, pilots, proofs of concept and collaborative R&D&I projects.
INNOVAMOS continues to advance towards its goal of transforming real business challenges into opportunities for collaboration, strengthening the connection between research, business and knowledge transfer within the Macaronesia cooperation area.
