Session on Promoting Innovation and Intellectual Property Valorization

“Promoting Innovation and Valuing Intellectual Property” was the theme of the session organized by the University of Madeira as part of the InnoVamos project, which took place on April 22 at the Auditorium of the Rector’s Office Building at the Jesuit College in Funchal.

The event brought together representatives from companies, knowledge transfer offices, start-ups, spin-offs, entrepreneurs, and researchers, as well as public agencies and key stakeholders in the field of regional innovation, with the aim of deepening technical knowledge regarding intellectual property and strengthening the university-industry link.

The program included presentations by the Vice-Rector, José S. Câmara, who addressed “The importance of knowledge valorization in the academic context”; by María Sacristán Rodríguez, from the ULPGC Knowledge Transfer Office, who reflected on “The role of Knowledge Transfer Offices”; and by Adriana Esteves, IP Consultancy Director at ClarkeModet Portugal, who presented “From Research to Market: valorizing the results of academic research.” The session also included an open discussion dedicated to the regional innovation ecosystem, promoting the sharing of perspectives and dialogue among the various stakeholders.
