The event brought together leading figures in national and international entrepreneurship to explore how to foster resilient territories through innovation and knowledge transfer

From September 18 to 20, 2025, the island of La Palma became the epicenter of entrepreneurship research as it hosted the X International Workshop GEM-ACEDE, organized by the GEM Spain Network and the Scientific Association of Economics and Business Management (ACEDE). The event brought together researchers, professionals, and institutional representatives committed to strengthening the entrepreneurial fabric from a resilient and inclusive perspective.

The European project InnoVamos, coordinated by the Canarian Science and Technology Park Foundation of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (FCPCT-ULPGC) and represented in this case by the University of La Laguna through its stand, actively participated in this key meeting with an information stand and attendance at various program sessions, in line with its commitment to improving technology transfer between universities and companies in the regions of Macaronesia and West Africa.

This participation was framed within Activity 1.1 of the project, aimed at institutional presentation and dissemination of results to increase its visibility and impact. In addition, it contributed directly to other strategic areas, such as the promotion of entrepreneurship (Activity 3.1), cross-border incubation (Activity 3.2), and training in open innovation (Activity 1.2).

«The workshop represented a unique opportunity to create alliances with chairs of entrepreneurship, identify validated methodologies, and explore new forms of entrepreneurial training, such as micro-credentials», highlighted the InnoVamos technical team.

Attendance at the meeting allowed InnoVamos to position itself as a key actor in the transnational entrepreneurial ecosystem, in an environment where common challenges for island regions were addressed, such as digitalization, sustainability, and the effective transfer of knowledge.

In the context of the 25th anniversary of GEM Spain and the celebration of the National Meeting of Chairs of Entrepreneurship, the event offered a privileged space to exchange experiences and strengthen collaboration networks that positively impact the generation of startups and qualified employment.

With its presence in La Palma, InnoVamos continued to drive its vision: a more connected, competitive, and sustainable innovation ecosystem, capable of addressing future challenges through international cooperation and local talent.
