The UAc, University of Azores, will represent the R&I ecosystem and is one of the widening countries universities to learn from the leading ones. It is the only University in Azores and is organized in three campus located in different islands (Ponta Delgada campus is in Sao Miguel Island; Angra do Heroismo campus in Terceira and Horta campus in Faial). Due to their location and biodiversity, UAC is committed to creating and promoting knowledge and technology on particular on biodiversity, volcanology, tourism, marine and transnational issues.
Established in 2020, InUAc (University of the Azores’ Technology-Based Business Incubator) aims to promote and implement activities that stimulate the academic community towards technological transfer, entrepreneurship, and company creation, closely linking with the regional business fabric and society in general.
InUAc offers a range of services designed to value the knowledge and innovation produced at the University of the Azores. These services include support in intellectual property, the creation of startups and spin-offs, organization of ideation or acceleration programs, and training oriented towards entrepreneurship and innovation. The incubator provides both physical and virtual incubation programs, supported by a network of mentors with expertise in strategic areas for the region.
Through these initiatives, InUAc strives to transform academic innovation potential into economic and social value, supporting entrepreneurs in developing their business ideas and contributing to the sustainable growth of the Azores.
