Associação Comercial e Industrial do Funchal – Câmara de Comércio e Indústria da Madeira

The Associação Comercial e Industrial do Funchal – Câmara de Comércio e Indústria da Madeira (ACIF-CCIM), founded in 1836, is a private, non-profit organisation that champions economic development, business innovation, and sustainable growth in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. It provides support to around 800 member companies, predominantly SMEs, across all sectors, including commerce, industry, services, and tourism.

With 21 staff members distributed across six departments, ACIF-CCIM offers a diverse range of services: business support, professional training, organisation of business missions, trade fairs, conferences and events, institutional representation, and advocacy for its members’ interests, both nationally and internationally.

The association has spearheaded numerous initiatives to stimulate the regional business landscape and attract new dynamics to Madeira. This has been achieved through projects and training programmes co-financed by various European funds and programmes, such as EEA Grants, Interreg MAC, Interreg Atlantic, Erasmus+, Horizon 2020, COSME, and Structural Funds (ESF and ERDF).

At the European level, its involvement began in 1989 with the Euro Info Centre, and since 2008, it has been a partner of the Enterprise Europe Network. It also represented Europe Direct in Madeira, thereby reinforcing the region’s connection to European Union networks and opportunities.
